Inspiration
eventure was inspired by a common problem we kept running into at networking events: walking into a room full of people and not knowing who to talk to. As startup founders, we realized that the right connections often slip by simply because we don’t have the tools to identify them ahead of time. That realization sparked the idea to build a platform that could take the guesswork out of networking.
What it does
eventure helps startup founders and investors identify the most relevant people and best events to attend. It scrapes publicly available attendee data from event platforms and enriches it with context like job titles, mutual connections, and shared interests. The platform then scores both events and attendees to help users walk in with a clear plan and high-value conversations waiting.
How we built it
We built eventure using a Python-based backend for scraping and enrichment and a lightweight frontend to display the event dashboard. We also used data enrichment techniques to overlay LinkedIn-style insights on top of raw attendee lists, helping users quickly assess which events and connections matter most.
Challenges we ran into
One of the biggest challenges was handling inconsistencies across event platforms, as data is often messy and formatted differently. We also had to be mindful of scraping ethics and API limits, making sure we delivered value without compromising integrity. Designing a scoring system that felt both intelligent and intuitive also took several iterations.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We’re proud of how we turned a vague frustration into a working MVP. It feels incredible to give founders a tool that helps them feel more confident and prepared when navigating events. The feedback we received so far has validated that this is a real pain point worth solving.
What we learned
We learned how valuable personalized context is in making professional connections feel intentional. We also realized that early-stage users don’t need complex tools—they need clarity, speed, and relevance. Most of all, we learned how important it is to build for behavior, not just utility.
What's next for eventure
We’re continuing to refine our enrichment engine and prepping for a larger beta test during upcoming startup events. Our next step is integrating more real-time LinkedIn-style platforms, removing the freemium tier for better monetization, and starting conversations with early event partners. The long-term vision is to become the go-to layer founders use before walking into any room.
