Inspiration

The inspiration behind this project came from my own experience and observation of the challenges event planners face. Planning and organizing events can be complex and time-consuming, involving various tasks, budgets, guest lists, and timelines. I wanted to create a comprehensive toolkit to simplify the event planning process and empower event planners to manage their events more efficiently.

Learning Experience

During the development of this project, I had the opportunity to explore and integrate various tools and technologies. I learned how to leverage the capabilities of Coda AI, OpenAI, Jira, Airtable, Microsoft To-Do, Financial Essentials, OpenAI ChatGPT, and Typeform to create a powerful event planning solution. I gained valuable insights into the functionalities and features offered by these tools and their integration capabilities with the Coda platform.

Building Process

The project was built using Coda AI as the central platform, which provided the foundation for creating the event planning toolkit. I utilized the different packs and integrations available within Coda AI to enhance the functionality and user experience. The integration with Jira allowed for seamless task management and evaluation of task statuses. Airtable was a versatile database for storing guest lists, vendor contacts, and team contacts. Microsoft To-Do enabled efficient task management and tracking. Financial Essentials by Todd Olson provided essential financial formulas for budget calculations. OpenAI ChatGPT was employed for chat-based interactions and assistance. Typeform was used to create surveys for gathering information from team members and event attendees.

Challenges Faced

Throughout the development process, I encountered several challenges. Integrating multiple tools and ensuring smooth interaction required careful planning and attention to detail. Overcoming technical hurdles, such as authentication and data synchronization, was a significant challenge. Additionally, balancing providing a comprehensive toolkit while keeping the user interface intuitive and user-friendly required iterative refinement and testing.

Despite the challenges, this project provided a valuable learning experience and the opportunity to create a practical solution for event planning. I believe this event planning toolkit will greatly assist event planners in organizing successful events with ease and efficiency.
