Inspiration

We were talking about how we miss out events on campus because we simply did not know about them. This could be due to not being on a particular email list or following an Instagram page. To mitigate this issue we wanted to create a centralized place where students can find events and club leaders can post about their events.

What is the problem your solution addresses?

We decided to follow the track of co-existence. Co-existence to us does not just mean being able to live side by side but to do so in a meaningful and enriching way. The problem we decided to address stems from personal experience of missing out on fun events happening around campus, simply because we were not on an email list or following an Instagram page. The problem statement: university students lack awareness of events happening on campus, and therefore miss out on the opportunity to build new friendships & become a part of new communities.

Why did you pick this solution, and how does it address the problem?

We picked Eventi to solve our problem because we thought it would provide a centralized way to learn about all events happening on campus. You don’t have to have a dedicated member of your friend group on the hunt for fun events, because everyone will be able to see all events on campus in the Eventi app. Club leaders also will drive up awareness of their club initiatives and be able to bring together more people. This way no one, neither club leaders nor students ever feel like they are missing out because everyone will be in the know.

What it does

The app lets you add events (club leaders), view events happening on campus, see which of your friends are going, view your calendar, add friends, etc.

Challenges we ran into

Prototyping was a little difficult to get the hang of at first. Also as we went along creating screens, we realized we forgot certain features and had to go back and add them.
