Inspiration

Some of our favorite boutiques are closed due to the pandemic and have gone online.
Now we find it difficult to choose from so many options online without trying the outfits.
As people are slowly progressing towards normalcy, we want these small businesses to increase their sales and grow sustainably alongside being resilient to future challenges.
With our model, we propagate collaboration and hybridization of the sales channels to support increased inventory turnover of the retailers.

What it does

We are bringing a personalized shopping experience to our customers at their doorstep.

  • Customers can consult one-on-one with our Remote Fashion Consultants to choose the right outfits from the overwhelming collections online.
  • To tackle environmental issues, we focus on sustainable fashion and circular economy
  • We deliver the shortlisted (Chosen) options in our Mobile Shopping Trucks at their doorstep
  • Customers can try out the outfits & matching accessories in the Mobile Shopping Trucks just before the purchase. We have UV light sanitizer for customer safety
  • Customers earn Loyalty points after the purchase, which can also be redeemed with our partners.

How we built it

  • We used Wix website builder to create our wireframe.
  • The front end was a simple, user-friendly drag and drop process to create the designs we needed, which can be customized using Java script.
  • Wix provides an interface for the backend using Scala.
  • The interface for booking appointments with the fashion consultant needs to be integrated with the already existing website of the small businesses.

Challenges we ran into

  • We are building a hybrid business model by predicting the intersection of 2 independent data sets of the sales channels.
  • We had very less data on the possible predictions of the market in the near future due to the unusual times of COVID.
  • To consolidate the business ideas from five different team members.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

  • We built the model without significant investment to revive the business with an innovative approach
  • We built a platform that considers environmental and social impacts alongside business goals.
  • We gave a platform for the small business owners community on our website for visibility and customer acquisition.

What we learned

  • Having a diverse set of data to predict the model's sustainability during these unusual pandemic times was critical.
  • Shaping a model to address societal problems alongside business goals is integral.
  • Agreeing to disagree is an important aspect to add perspectives to the constructive discussion.

What's next for Estilo

In future we plan to:

  • Have more warehouses to increase the serviceable area and customer base
  • Own more number of mobile stores to cover a large geographical area
  • Hire more fashion consultants so we can attend to organic traffic
  • Collaborate with more small businesses selling associated products
  • Provide designer customized clothing to the customers
