Escape Pursuit

Inspiration

In an era where smartphones have revolutionized convenience, a significant side effect has emerged—a noticeable decline in physical activity. Research from the National Institute of Health highlights a concerning trend: individuals using smartphones tend to engage less in daily physical activities. With obesity rates climbing to 41% among Americans, the urgency for innovative solutions has never been more apparent.

What it does

Escape Pursuit blends traditional hide-and-seek with modern technology, reimagining this timeless game for today's digital natives. Designed to cater to three players at a time—comprising two seekers and one hider—Escape Pursuit transforms every match into a thrilling chase.

  • Once a game session is created, the system randomly assigns the role of the hider among the participants.
  • The selected hider is granted a 10-minute headstart to scout for the perfect hiding spot. This critical phase is where strategy meets stealth.
  • After the hider's time is up, seekers are given a lifeline—a map showing a 1-mile radius. However, there's a twist: the map's center is deliberately randomized. This ensures the hider's exact location remains a mystery.
  • With 20 minutes on the clock, seekers must find the hider. It's a race against time, where strategy and physical agility are key.
