Inspiration

The inspiration behind EquiHire is to create an inclusive and diverse job platform that promotes equal opportunities for both employers and job seekers, regardless of their background, abilities, or gender. We believe that every individual should have access to a fair job market and aim to provide a platform where inclusivity and diversity are celebrated. 🌟🌈

What it does

EquiHire is an innovative job platform that empowers job seekers and employers to connect on a deeper level. It offers features such as inclusive job postings, accessibility options, and a real-time notification system for both employers and job seekers. The platform encourages fair hiring practices, fosters diversity, and provides a seamless experience for everyone involved. 💼🤝

How we built it

We built EquiHire using modern web technologies and frameworks. The frontend is developed using React, ensuring a smooth and interactive user experience. For the backend, we utilized Node.js and a cloud-based database to store user data securely. Accessibility options and inclusive job postings are integrated through thoughtful design and development choices. We have also created a job role-matching platform using Streamlit where users can decide their job role based on their tech stack. There are 2 roles employer and employee so accordingly the person can switch between roles. We have added the voice Text to Speech and Speech to Text feature and color-blind support to the application. For logging in, we've used Auth0, and for job role matching, we've deployed it on Streamlit and created using Python. For storing all the data, we've used Firebase Realtime and Firestore. For deploying the website, we used GitHub and Vercel for the CICD pipeline. 🚀🔒

Challenges we ran into

Building a platform that caters to a diverse audience comes with its set of challenges. Ensuring accessibility compliance and creating a seamless user experience for individuals with varying abilities was a significant challenge. We also faced technical hurdles when implementing real-time notifications. However, we overcame these challenges through collaboration, research, and dedicated development efforts. 💪🛠️
