Inspiration The inspiration behind "Equal4Me" stemmed from the desire to create a platform that empowers women by providing access to curated news across various domains like opportunities, health, and technology. With an AI assistant (Gemini-1.5), the project aims to simplify information consumption and provide insights that support women's professional and personal growth.
Project Journey Building Equal4Me involved integrating TheNewsAPI to pull relevant articles and developing an intuitive search feature. The project also includes a motivational element, with Gemini-1.5 offering "Words of Wisdom" to keep users inspired.
Challenges Some of the challenges faced included data filtering for accurate results and aligning content with the platform's mission to be inclusive and supportive of women.
Learnings This journey taught valuable lessons in API integration, frontend development, and the importance of user-centered design in creating meaningful tools. It was also alot of fun learning about Gemini and Google's Translation API
