What's next for Epidemiological Vector Mapping System (EVMS)
Since the majority of our team is from or has lived in India, we thought it would be useful to visualize the factors and influences that facilitate mosquito breeding. We accomplished this goal by creating an interactive map. Using the provided GLOBE datasets, we were able to overlay them to show the relationship between conditions like precipitation rates, surface temperature, humidity and how they affect mosquito habitat distribution. Using this visualization, we hope to inform decision makers of the areas and regions that require the most attention, funding and preventative measures to combat mosquito-borne illnesses.
