Inspiration
As we near irreversible climate change effect, it is critical that every aspect of our life should is sustainable. No matter what anyone says, the capabilities of technology are amazing. So, we have combined fun with responsibility through our app. We admit that everyone is responsible towards the environment. However, a little bit of fun is always welcome.
What it does
The app uses machine learning model to identify whether a object is recyclable or not
How we built it
We used Google Cloud Platform to implement our app. We trained our model using AutoML Vision Edge by Google
Challenges we ran into
This was our first-time training machine learning models. Moreover, all of us were unfamiliar with Firebase. To implement our app, we used React Native at first. It was proving quite difficult to implement the functions we wanted. So we had to start again after a long way into the project

What's next for EntityTally
An app like ours has a huge potential. It could reduce a waste disposal costs and reduce the impact of human on the environment. To make the app work even faster we would like to implement the image stream future. We would also work to integrate our calorie counter python script in the app as well
