Inspiration
Enki was inspired by the title of the Hackathon Bon Voyage or "have a safe trip" in English. One thing that is often overlooked when people think about vacations is accessibility. In fact it is often so overlooked that it is extremely difficult for people within the disabled community to figure out if where they want to go is accessible. They often have to arrive to their destination and figure it out for themselves. This is why Enki was created.
What it does
Named after the Sumerian god of knowledge, Enki aims to allow users to input any general location along with some activity they would like to do and get a ranked list of accessible locations.
How we built it
Enki was built using html, css, and javascript.
Challenges we ran into
A major challenge I ran into was working on this project alone. I really only had time for conceptual work and front-end code.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
I am proud of pushing myself to create/work on this project alone.
What we learned
project management skills
What's next for Enki
In the coming months Enki will be a fully functioning website and will have a new ranking feature will people can rank how accessible a location is.
