Inspiration: The inspiration came from the challenges we saw in making NEOM 100% green energy initiative.

What it does: Aims to balance the load (Supply=Demand) and reduce the stress on the grid when the solar farm power production fluctuation occurs or when the demand increases.

How we built it Two solutions

1. Incentive-based reduction in power consumption from the prosumer side.
2. District cooling system with thermal Ice storage tanks, Variable Speed Driven Chillers and using Steam-driven chillers in CSE Solar plants.

Challenges we ran into

1. Predicting the output from the solar panels during the entire year in various climatic conditions.
2. Distribution of power consumption reduction in the prosumer side based on previous data.
3. No cooling load data present for NEOM city, we use sample data.
