The idea for this project didn’t come from any specific inspiration but rather from a desire to create something simple yet effective. Endangered species and wildlife conservation are crucial topics, and building a platform that provides accessible information about these animals felt like a meaningful way to raise awareness. The website educates users about endangered species, offering detailed insights into their habitats, diets, and the threats they face, while also sharing interesting and lesser-known facts. Using React as the framework, I started by developing the navbar, followed by the homepage, then the random fact section, and finally a catalogue with individual pages for each animal. Once the core structure was in place, I shifted focus to responsive design to ensure a smooth user experience across devices. One of the main challenges encountered was creating a responsive design, along with developing an infinite sliding bar on the homepage, which took considerable effort to implement. While there’s still work to be done, I’m particularly proud of overcoming the challenges of the responsive design and the sliding bar. Through this process, I learned how to create an infinitely sliding bar, which was a valuable skill to acquire. Looking ahead, the next step for the Endangered Animals website is to implement a dark mode, adding another layer of user personalization and enhancing the overall user experience.
