"Enabling Unique Minds" is not just a project; it's a celebration of individuality, resilience, and the extraordinary capabilities that lie within each young mind. This is a movement to sponsor a sense of belonging and empowerment.

What it does

"EnablingUniqueMinds" is a comprehensive mobile application designed to empower children with learning disabilities by providing a wide range of resources and support. Tailored to meet the diverse needs of children and their families, this app serves as a one-stop destination for accessing valuable tools, mentoring, tutoring, events, and general information.

How we built it

We built the project using the Replit website, leveraging languages such as HTML, JavaScript, and CSS to bring our vision to life. Replit provided a seamless development environment, allowing us to collaborate effectively and implement various features and functionalities. Through careful planning and collaboration, we were able to create a user-friendly and visually appealing platform that meets the diverse needs of children with learning disabilities.

Challenges we ran into

We ran into issues with the collaborating software we used and also had some interface issues which were resolved. We also had issues uploading our project and making it viewable but ultimately everything was solved.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are ultimately proud of the website we made and the message our project is sending. Through meaningful mentorship, accessible resources, and a commitment to empowerment, we've seen children thrive academically and personally. Our dedication to creating an inclusive environment where every child feels valued and supported drives our mission forward. As we continue our journey, we're grateful for the positive feedback and testimonials that reinforce the significance of our work. What we learned

Throughout the development process, we gained valuable insights and skills that have enriched our understanding of creating inclusive technology solutions for children with learning disabilities. We learned the importance of user-centered design, focusing on accessibility and ease of use to ensure that our platform meets the diverse needs of our target audience. Additionally, we honed our proficiency in HTML, JavaScript, and CSS, mastering techniques to implement engaging and interactive features. Collaboration was key, as we worked together to address challenges and refine our ideas. Moreover, we deepened our understanding of the unique challenges faced by children with learning disabilities and the significance of providing tailored support and resources. Overall, this experience has been a rewarding journey of learning, growth, and empowerment, leaving us inspired to continue making a positive impact in the field of inclusive technology.

What's Next for Enabling Unique Minds

We believe that the next feature we would like to have is for students and parents to apply for aid for testing learning disabilities for students that struggle with learning disabilities such as ADHD, Dyslexia and Dyscalculia.

I worked on the frontend using html and css to create the reviews on the app and events page for the kids with learning disabilities. I also used bootstrap to create the sign up sheet.

I worked on the resources page. I used html, css, and javascript to create the resources page and sign up for volunteers and sign up for users to apply for tutoring or mentoring. I also made a few edit throughout the website.

Morghan Jones
For the project, I worked on the home page and the navbar and footer for all the pages. I also made sure that all the links on the pages were correct and that the navbar navigated to the correct pages as well. I worked on making sure the style was similar on all the pages and that the text and images were easy to see and read. Finally, I tried to add as much bootstrap as I could to the project. I used CSS, HTML, Replit, and GitHub to get this all done.

Jessica Gentles
My role in this website was to create a signup and log-in for our website. I learned how to use CSS and make the login container look better. The links bring the user to different pages depending on whether they have an account or are a new user. Once you hit the continue it brings you back to the home page. I also worked on the slider on the homepage, I was able to use BootStrap to help me with it.
