Inspiration
Our motivation to create EmployEase, a bespoke mental health app for construction workers, was significantly influenced by the critical role and extensive presence of the construction industry in Texas. The industry is not only pivotal to the state’s economic growth and infrastructure development but also employs a substantial number of individuals. Amidst the inherent physical risks associated with construction work, such as falls, electrical hazards, and struck-by incidents, there is a pressing concern for the mental health of the workers. In light of the 2020 CDC report revealing that the construction sector has the second-highest suicide rate among all major industries in the U.S., the need for targeted mental health support in Texas becomes even more crucial. EmployEase is our initiative to address this gap, offering a tailored resource to safeguard and enhance the mental well-being of construction workers within this vital sector.
