Inspiration
We addressed the healthcare challenge presented by TreeHacks 2022.
What it does
Our goal is to develop a mental health tool using AI to detect human emotion and provide them with resources. The program scans an image of a human face to detect their mood, and provides them with appropriate resources if needed.
How we built it
We implemented our program using Java, and used Google's Cloud Vision API to scan the images. Our frontend is a website, which was created using Javascript.
Challenges we ran into
Since a lot of these APIs/technologies were new to us, we had a some trouble getting it to work. We encountered a lot of errors that we didn't know how to fix.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Although our project still needs a lot of debugging, we managed to do everything we had planned to do originally, which was connecting to the API and building the base of the program. We even managed to create a frontend to improve the presentation of our project.
What we learned
We deepened our understanding in a lot of new technologies that we used, and also learned how to collaborate better with others when meeting a tight deadline.
What's next for Emoti-Help
We would like to make Emoti-Help work on videos, and add a log-in feature so multiple people would be able to use it.
