Inspiration

As a team from Nepal, we’ve experienced the devastating impact of natural disasters like earthquakes firsthand. The loss of loved ones, the chaos, and the struggle for accurate information during these crises inspired us to build EmergenSite. If we had access to real-time, AI-driven information during those events, we could have saved lives. With EmergenSite, we aim to prevent such tragedies by leveraging Generative AI to provide proactive, life-saving solutions during disasters.

What it does

Real-time emergency response: AI-driven plans and evacuation routes based on your location. Misinformation detection: Uses AI to verify crisis-related news. Chatbot to help you out if you needs more information and support. Location tracking: Displays your current location during normal times, and evacuation routes during a disaster.

How we built it

Generative AI for emergency response plans, and misinformation detection. Google Maps API for real-time evacuation routes and location tracking.

Challenges we ran into

Integrating multiple technologies: Coordinating AI, real-time location tracking, and emergency data delivery was complex. Misinformation accuracy: Ensuring the real-time verification of crisis-related information while maintaining system performance. User accessibility: Making the platform intuitive and accessible for everyone.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Developed an AI-powered platform that can provide life-saving information during disasters. Successfully integrated Generative AI to deliver personalized and timely emergency response plans. Created a location-based system that shows evacuation routes during emergencies and your current location in normal times. Even though we were all beginner hackers we were able to accomplish all the tasks that we assigned for ourselves. It was hard, undoubtedly, and the code would bug more than run, but we persevered and with team work finally got the project done. We are proud to say that we not only gained technical skills for this project but also soft skills.

What we learned

We learned how powerful Generative AI can be in creating personalized, real-time solutions for disaster response. We also gained valuable insights into the importance of accessibility, ensuring that everyone, regardless of their circumstances, can access vital information in an emergency. Additionally, we realized the significance of real-time misinformation detection in preventing confusion and panic during crises.

What's next for Emergen Site

Improve real-time response capabilities to ensure faster processing during high-traffic emergency events. Broaden the platform’s reach, making it available in more languages and regions to serve a larger global audience. Collaborate with hotlines and local government to make it more impactful so that it helps the people who need help during the time that they require it the most.
