Every day, we interact with services and people on and off line that collect and disseminate information and opinions about us through the Internet. Most people have little idea of the sentiment of this online presence. Local politicians and activists require access to this vital metric of the public's perception, but lack the budgets for commercial online analytics services. Our application, E-ME, provides a full name and image search aggregator and analyzer to gauge opinions and perceptions from various online sources. This way, an activist campaigning for increased educational spending in the county school district can quickly and concisely view the local media and general support and opposition for their cause.

I worked on the web scraper that gathers images for the results. We used BeautifulSoup for this, so it was only my second time using Python. I also wrote the service in C# that ran the Python script and digested the results.

I collaborated with James on Microsoft's Azure Computing Vision API implementation. I also worked on using Google's Vision API to collect labels for images.

I developed the web front end and server (.NET Core), implemented the web search API, and collaborated with Caleb Goze to implement the facial recognition API.

JamesAllison
I worked on a web scraper written in C# to pull relevant paragraphs from websites containing key words. I then leveraged Google's Natural Language Analyzer API to perform sentiment analysis on the paragraph text.
