Inspiration

Ourselves, as me and Luke were left to do the work, we could either quit and take the easy loss or try to see what we could do. After staying up all night, I can say we made something to be proud of, and learned a lot doing so!

What it does

Plots data of water inflow to detect overflow and underflow, if so it outputs commands to act accordingly with water intake. Along with this, uses graph and live plotting to show the changes over time to be analyzed and save money in the long run.

How we built it

Uses MVP but also innovates, doesn't use too much code so that the program isn't efficient but also is able to stream and output data quickly and accurately.

Challenges we ran into

Two of our teammates didn't help and left midway through, leaving me and Luke to finish the code. Afterward we got on it all night and were able to finish it, with help from mentors and learning via trial and error.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Learned how to use API in different environments and languages, along with gaining a deeper understanding of code and using creativity to make a project to be proud of. Finished first hackathon and much more hackathons will be done in the future as it was definitely a fun experience.

What we learned

A lot! Everything from live charting via the matplotlib module to API calls and reading from web sockets. It has definitely been a great learning experience!

What's next for Efficiency via Prediction

This was our whole project! We graphed so we could predict the future chart and see how sensors would act and how to better reduce water usage so surplus wouldn't be taken/resources wouldn't be wasted.
