Inspiration
Somewhat inspired by games like little alchemist, Lego blocks, scratch interactive, we wanted to make something more interactive, but in a much smaller scale. We wanted to create cards with images on top that represents a lot of small parts that when joined together and detected by our app, will show the bigger picture of how the whole system works.
What it does
Our app uses image recognition to detect when our EducARds are joined together like a puzzle. When detected, it will display an AR, showing a short animation and providing information regarding how the combined "elements" worked.
How we built it
The cards can be made up of anything, but lamination is preferred. Our app was made by using unity and vuforia.
Challenges we ran into
Due to time constraints, the amount of cards we can make as well as the combinations, are very limited. We have enough to show the gist of how EducARd works, but more cards and combinations can be added in the future. Some problems we encountered with our app was that the image detection worked to well, at which point it started showing the AR despite the cards not being joined together.
What's next for Education cARd
EducARd is a very flexible project and we plan on improving our project as time goes on. Not only can our app be further optimized, but we can also create more sets of cards that can lead to a lot more combinations.
