Inspiration
We were inspired when we looked on podcast.ucsd.edu and saw that there was no way to view the full transcript of the podcast. We also saw that there was no place to record lectures and have the words be printed out on screen. We saw an opportunity to help students like us in class.
What it does
Our project records voices through the mic and outputs the text on screen with time stamps. You can search for words in the lecture. It will be highlighted and include time stamps. You can also upload an audio file and have the full transcript with time stamps.
How we built it
We used nextjs, css, javascript, webkitspeechrecgonitionapi, and googlecloudapi to build our project.
Challenges we ran into
We had a hard time figuring out how to transcribe the audio file and use voice recognition.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We're proud that we got a working product that can help students.
What we learned
There's a lot of opportunity in the world of education.
