Inspiration
We noticed that a lot of emissions come from small, repeated errands- people make extra trips without realizing it. We wanted a way to make sustainability happen before you drive, just by planning more efficiently and smarter.
What it does
Ecoroute bundles errands into fewer trips to save time, distance, CO2. Users can add errands, get bundle suggestions, edit bundles, and see the trips avoided + amount of CO2 saved, you can also see the community progress.
How we built it
We built EcoRoute with a mix of our own code and AI help. We implemented the errand/bundle flow, editable bundles, and live impact calculations, using AI to speed up repetitive UI and setup work so we could focus on the core logic and user experience.
Challenges we ran into
Making bundling clear and easy without overwhelming users, and ensuring the app stays fast and intuitive while updating impact results.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Creating a practical tool that prevents emissions by reducing trips, with a clear, demo-friendly interface and community features.
What we learned
Sustainability works best when it's low-friction and shows impact instantly. Good user experience matters as much as the idea.

Smarter recommendations, calendar integration, and scaling EcoRoute for schools, workplaces, and cities.
