Inspiration

The motivation behind our project comes from how arrogant this society has been whether it is regarding the environment or other less fortunate individuals. We recognize that both of these are a major issue and yet not enough individuals are willing to take any action on it or talk about it. One experience that stood out for me was during a beach meeting when the staff told us that ”one person’s actions might not make a difference but one action committed by multiple people makes a huge impact.” This immediately sparked an idea to create something that could motivate individuals to contribute together towards a positive change. This simple yet inspiring statement showcased the power of teamwork action and the potential for individuals to make a meaningful impact when united by a common goal. This is what inspired us to create a platform that brings our users together to engage in sustainable practices and support important causes, knowing that their actions, when combined with those of others, can lead to significant positive impacts.

Product Summery:

Our app gives users a platform to do sustainable actions that are in line with the 17 Sustainable Development Goals of the UN, thereby revolutionizing in-app participation with sustainability. For example, a user might be given a weekly task to take the bus three times to work to meet the 13th goal of climate action, or they might be given a daily task to run one kilometer, which relates to the third goal of health and well-being. As a result, such individuals will receive points for each activity they finish, which they can then exchange for incredible prizes. Not only that but the top three players with the most points win grand prizes. This gives users a competitive edge in our app and motivates them to finish more sustainable activities within a week. To check whether a user has completed the task or not, they are required to upload a photo of the task they completed through our built-in camera. Based on the picture, our AI system automatically determines whether they have finished the task successfully and then awards them points for completing it.
