Inspiration

We’ve all been there: staying in a hotel, turning on all the lights, cranking up the air conditioning, and leaving without a second thought. It’s easy to forget about sustainability when comfort and convenience are at our fingertips. But with climate change accelerating, it's time to rethink how we approach energy usage, even during short stays. We were inspired by the idea of transforming this typically overlooked behaviour into an opportunity for sustainable impact—one that’s easy, engaging, and rewarding for both hotel guests and management.

What it does

EcoQuest is a smart system designed to encourage eco-friendly behavior among hotel guests while providing hotel managers and investors with transparent, actionable insights on energy consumption. IoT devices in hotel rooms track energy, water, and gas usage in real time. Through our gamified mobile app, hotel guests receive tailored sustainability challenges, motivating them to reduce their consumption in exchange for rewards like points, badges, and discounts. Meanwhile, hotel managers and investors can track aggregated, anonymized energy data through a personalized dashboard, ensuring transparency and identifying hotels that are genuinely making sustainable changes.
