Inspiration

Climate change is one of the biggest global challenges of our time. Many people want to live more sustainably, but tracking daily activities and understanding their carbon impact can feel overwhelming. Our inspiration was to make this process simple, engaging, and trustworthy combining AI, gamification, and blockchain to create real incentives for eco-friendly living.

What it does

EcoLedger is a real-time sustainability tracker that allows users to:

Log activities (e.g., driving, recycling, energy use).

Use AI-powered calculation to estimate emissions and environmental impact.

Earn points and climb leaderboards to compete with friends or communities.

Mint blockchain certificates (NFTs) as proof of their sustainable actions.

Collect ECO tokens as rewards for eco-friendly behavior.

By combining AI + blockchain transparency, EcoLedger transforms sustainability into something measurable, shareable, and verifiable.

How we built it

Frontend: React + TailwindCSS for a clean, responsive UI.

Backend: Node.js + Express for APIs and logic.

Database: Supabase for real-time data storage and authentication.

Blockchain: NFT minting & token rewards to ensure tamper-proof verification.

AI: Carbon activity analyzer that auto-calculates emissions from natural language input.

Hosting: Vercel / Render for deployment.

Challenges we ran into

Ensuring real-time updates across users for leaderboards.

Integrating AI activity parsing to make carbon calculation user-friendly.

Securing private keys and API secrets during deployment.

Making the blockchain integration seamless for non-technical users.
