Inspiration
Our climate tracking clock is inspired by the US Debt Clock.org which keeps track of the current US debt along with other statistics.
What it does
Our website attempts to get up-to-date data, regarding some of the most significant environmental issues, and display it live to promote awareness about some of the environmental issues that we currently face.
How we built it
We used HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to build the front end of the website.
Challenges we ran into
One of the biggest challenges we encountered was correctly scraping data from the internet and updating it live onto our website.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud to have been able to create a webpage that shows users live data about current environmental issues, so they can be aware of the challenges we face.
What we learned
We have all learned a little bit more about the intricacies of creating a webpage and the difficulties that arise when trying to web scrape data.
What's next for EcoHacks 2022 Project
We plan to update our web scraping technology so that it updates quicker and more accurately.
