Inspiration

The inspiration behind EcoHabitat stems from the urgent need to address the global challenge of climate change and environmental degradation. Over time, we have come to realize that waiting for others to take responsibility for our environment is not enough. Each individual's contribution matters, and we need a collective effort to combat the threats posed by climate change.EcoHabitat was born out of the desire to create a compelling platform that motivates and empowers users to adopt sustainable habits in their daily lives.

What it does

  • Habit Development: EcoHabitat provides users with a range of sustainability-focused challenges and habits that they can adopt in their daily routines. These challenges may include actions like reducing plastic waste, conserving energy, practicing eco-friendly commuting, or supporting local sustainable businesses.
  • Gamification: Users earn points, rewards, and achievements as they complete challenges and make progress towards their sustainable goals.
  • Community and Social Interaction: To prevent User from getting demotivated Community and social interaction will come in handy
  • Challenges and Competitions: Complete different Challenges and reedeem points to earn exciting reward
  • Admin Features: EcoHabitat includes administrative features that allow platform administrators to manage challenges

How we built it

  1. The first step we took was creating the Admin Dashboard.
  2. The next thing we built was User Authentication
  3. We Still figuring out the logic for the challenge and reward system

Challenges we ran into

  1. We are still figuring out the logic of how we can make user dashboard and user side logic
  2. How to make user interaction indulging and how to design the user dashboard .
  3. Pretty much user side interactions

Accomplishments that we're proud of

  • We have successfully built the admin Dashboard:- New challenges can be added, edited, and deleted
  • We are successful in developing User Authentication for users

What we learned

  • As this was my first ever Hackathon I only had little knowledge of python and flask besides having some fundamentals of HTML,CSS therefore I pretty much learnt everything.
  • I learnt User authentication which includes user login , registration and logout
  • I learnt performing CRUD operations.

What's next for EcoHabitat

Next Up we are planning to integrate community and social interaction wherein users can share their views and thoughts , share their progress after successfully completing the current challenges.
