Inspiration
Fast fashion is harming our planet — causing massive water waste, carbon emissions, and tons of textile waste every year. We wanted to create a fun, easy, and stylish way for people to actively participate in sustainable fashion. EcoFitz was born to bridge the gap between eco-consciousness and personal expression, making sustainability something you can see, wear, and feel proud of.
What it does
Recycle: Users can send in old clothes and fabrics.
Design: Users style new outfits using a 3D mannequin to visualize the final look.
Order: EcoFitz connects users with eco-friendly manufacturers who can bring their designs to life.
Impact: Every design made saves water, reduces waste, and supports a more sustainable fashion industry.
We also track and show users the positive impact they're making — from gallons of water saved to pounds of textile waste reduced.
How we built it
We built the EcoFitz platform using Next.js for the frontend and Express.js for the backend. 3D visualization was integrated with three.js to render customizable mannequins. File uploads, model storage, and orders are managed through a cloud backend. We also incorporated eco-impact metrics using real-world sustainability data to show users the tangible effects of their choices.
Challenges we ran into
Generating 3D images and displaying them in real time.
Accomplishments we're proud of
Creating a fully interactive 3D design experience.
Integrating an impact tracker that shows users the real difference they make.
Making sustainable fashion not just ethical, but exciting and personal.
What's next for EcoFitz
Launching a marketplace for users to browse and buy each other's eco-friendly designs.
Partnering with more sustainable manufacturers around the world.
Adding AR (Augmented Reality) features so users can try on their designs virtually before ordering.
Building a stronger community around sustainable fashion creators and supporters.
