Inspiration

As our team looked around for issues we found in common within our cities we all came to the same conclusion: Improving transit. We saw how car dependency took away from our cities beauty with car traffic, lack of parking in some places which hinders our ability to travel, and abundance of parking in other places which takes away from natural spaces to roam. Using car also affects us individually at an economic level with gas, maintenance, and insurance costs. We would like to encourage people to use transit more to help combat this issue.

What it does

What ecoBus strives to do is show you how much money you saved by comparing the cost of taking your vehicle versus public transportation. This is designed for people who want to be more conscious of how much they are spending and want to save. Our user face will allow you to create an account so you can view how many trips you have taken, miles driven, and money saved on average.

How we built it

We built our project together in Visual Studio Code where we coded with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.

Challenges we ran into

Some of the challenges we ran into merging conflicts, compilation errors, and bugs. Since this was our first time working together on a tight deadline, we had to learn to communicate with one another.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We're proud of our homepage as we worked hard on making it look nice. It has some functional buttons like "Login" which took a team effort.

What we learned

It was all our first time trying new things, such as learning CSS, making navigation bars, and creating our login page.

What's next for ecoBus

Our next step for ecoBus is to continue working on our map webpage to have a full-functioning map that users can interact with. This will have the duration of the trip they are going to take, as well as their savings.
