As a part of the generation that needs to take the charge towards solving climate change, we constantly hear that we need to take initiative by recycling and being more mindful towards the environment but we never truly realize how much we are hurting the environment. So we came up with a website that directly tells you how much you are contributing to climate change through an exact number value, and then give options for how you can lower your carbon footprint. We built this website on repl.it so we could all access to code at the same time and we used react to code the website. While we had a lot of fun making this project it was not without difficulty. We all go to the same school and are friends so we decided to come to Monty Hacks together, however we did not have much time to prepare as we have been focused on school as the year ends so we all had to learn JS and react in the past 72 hours. Getting started was extremely difficult but we eventually worked through it, we are honestly surprised that we were even able to submit something. We definitely want to expand on our knowledge of react so we plan on continuing this project by adding more features and making it look visually appealing.
