Welcome to Echoless

This script analyzes the twitter feed of a given handle to calculate sentiments using the contents of posts on the feed. Using natural language processing and machine learning classification, echoless alerts users to potential biases in their feed and exposes their leanings on various political and trending topics.

Prerequisites

To run python main.py, you will need Google Application Credentials in order to make calls to the Google Cloud and Machine Learning APIs.

I worked on extracting a user's tweets and the tweets they see on their timeline, and using Google's Natural Language Processing ML API to analyze and aggregate the key ideas and sentiments of those tweets. I also worked on populating our MongoDB database with top relevant keywords to use as a reference against our input tweets.

Betty Chang
I worked on scraping a data set, training the Watson classifier and then processing a user's tweets. I also worked on interfacing with MongoDB using MLab and helped to visualize the graphs.
