Inspiration
The world is facing an urgent crisis, one that affects every corner of the globe – food waste. Daily, vast quantities of perfectly edible food are discarded, contributing to environmental degradation, hunger, and economic inefficiency. Yet, in the face of this colossal challenge, we see an incredible opportunity for transformation. EarthEats promotes the idea of "Take what you can eat and eat what you take".
What it does
EarthEats is a website that provides personalized dieting options, a food donation platform, and an interactive gamified UI that engages the user in the cause. The users can input their preferences and the website will provide the best dietary plan for them. Users can also donate their excess food to the needy, using the donation platform.
How we built it
The frontend languages/frameworks that we will use are HTML, CSS, Node.js, and Flutter. Backend frameworks include Django and Firebase. We will be using custom datasets and datasets from Kaggle while using ML frameworks such as TensorFlow and Scikit-learn.
What's next for EarthEats
We are planning to add a payment gateway to the website so that users who are willing to pay for the food they acquire can pay.
