Inspiration
Our planet is everything to us. So let's keep it clean together. With our app, people can connect with each other to volunteer to clean up litter.
What it does
Our website allows people to volunteer to clean up trash through a social media platform.
How we built it
We used Node.js throughout our project. The client was built with React.js; the server was built with Express.js, and for a database, we used MongoDB, which was hosted on Google Cloud. To implement a google sign-in we used Firebase.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We collaborated to create a layout of how our website would function in Figma. This involved how users would access the sign-in and how the navigation between pages would function.
What we learned
Many of us did not have prior experience with modern web development frameworks/libraries, so we got to learn about the capabilities of React.js, Express.js, etc.
What's next for EarthBound Cleaning
We were not able to fully implement all of the features that we had planned. Because of this, we would like to spend some time in the future adding features, such as user profiles, connecting with other users, leaderboards, rewards, etc. We are also looking to improve the theme and usability of the webpage.
