Inspiration

We found the idea on the internet of a money manager and thought it was a great idea to implement one.

What it does

This web application helps its users budget their money carefully by giving helpful spending alerts and providing a tracker on what items were purchased. It also makes it easy to log spending information with built in intuitive controls.

How we built it

We built the application using languages HTML and CSS for the UI and languages JavaScript, Python, Postgres, and Django.

Challenges we ran into

Understanding how to combine the frontend and backend portions of our application using JavaScript, Postgres, and Django, picking a project idea, and thinking of an algorithm to create our spending alert system.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We were able to program a working application and we learned a lot about web development including using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, databases, and Django.

What we learned

We gained multiple computer science skills.

What's next for Eagle Money

Using databases to scale our application for more users and coding algorithms that can learn from user data and make predictions on how people should budget their spending.
