Inspiration
There are no good apps with drug interactions; only websites. We wanted to make a good app, since apps are more efficient and lighter than websites.
What it does
It helps the user query openFDA databases for drug interactions of a given drug. Then, the scientific language is simplified by Gemini -- this setup reduces hallucinations.
How we built it
We built it with Flutter, which supports most devices as native apps.
Challenges we ran into
We initially used React Native and CSS, but ran into some issues porting the CSS and cat art along with us after we migrated to Flutter.
Gemini kept outputting text in markdown, so we had to add an extra preprocessing to remove it.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
The cat art we couldn't add D:
What we learned
We can use unfamiliar languages just fine!
What's next for drugapp
Finish our cute cat art!
