Inspiration
As students at UT Dallas, we find it difficult and confusing to find the office hours of our professors. Sometimes, we need to search through syllabi, websites, and more just to find where and when we can meet our professors. Our site aims to solve this issue.
What it does
Our site allows you to easily find the office hours of professors, categorized by semester and ordered by last name.
How we built it
We used a combination of HTML5 and CSS to develop most of our application. We also used scripts from JavaScript for two pages on our website.
Challenges we ran into
It was difficult to hide and reveal information without the use of PHP, but we were able to work around this.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We were able to make the entire website legible and aesthetically appealing, thanks to our use of the school's colors. We also made our website friendly to the user by ensuring a lack of scrolling. Our site is also mobile-friendly.
What we learned
We learned how to use elements of HTML5, CSS, and JavaScript together to make efficient, portable scripts and fast-loading webpages.
What's next for DropIn
We plan to expand this site to include search categories, a more extensive list of professors of more disciplines, and a more finished look.
