People lack drive to stay healthy and accomplish their goals

Achieving personal goals is a very isolating process and this can be discouraging

We set out to develop an application that helps people succeed, in collaboration with like-minded friends

We believe that working towards your goals as part of an encouraging community will motivate you to keep going

What it does

Drive is an innovative social health application designed to motivate users to embrace a healthier lifestyle through a unique accountability mechanism. Upon signing up, users are required to upload a "Drive Factor" – a potentially embarrassing or compromising photo that serves as a pledge to commit to their health goals. This photo is kept private but holds the key to ensuring commitment. The app fosters a community-driven environment where users can connect with friends, sharing and supporting each other's health-related endeavors. Each day, users are encouraged to set a health-oriented task for themselves – be it visiting the gym, running 5km, or completing 100 push-ups – and then post evidence of task completion on social media within a 24-hour timeframe. Task validation is a communal effort; friends within the app are expected to confirm the completion of each other's tasks. Should friends neglect to validate a task, the app automatically grants validation to ensure progress is accepted. However, if any friend actively chooses not to validate a task, the user's "Drive Factor" photo is shared with their friends, serving as a motivational consequence to uphold their commitment. Drive also incorporates thoughtful reminders to help users stay on track. As the 24-hour deadline approaches, the app sends notifications to remind users to complete and post their tasks, ensuring they remain focused on their health goals. This blend of community support, personal accountability, and a touch of playful risk makes Drive a unique and engaging platform for anyone looking to improve their health and wellness.
