Inspiration

The idea is inspired by Aman and Sagnik and their interest in DragonBall, OnePiece, and Anime GPT.

What it does

The intention is to have a web-based interface that lets the user select desired characters from the two popular Anime shows and type a scenario; and with those two inputs, a unique story - ideally with audio and/or visual aid - would be generated and output for the user to observe their custom creation of the mashup of the two fictional universes.

How we built it

The Front-end utilizes the HTTP, CSS, and JavaScript/React languages; while the Back-end features Python and pyTorch with the implemented dolly-v2-3b model.

Challenges we ran into

Angel was quite unfamiliar with CSS and JavaScript, and he had not used HTTP in several years. Some learning as well as trial and error played a major role in the process. Also, living on opposite sides of the planet provided a time-zone with essentially a 12-hour difference, so live communication was quite limited. A reasonably adept version of ChatGPT was financially unfeasible for our use, and the fulfilling the application for the use of the Claude system seemed to be unlikely due to the time constraints associated with a 48-hour deadline - not to mention the service is unavailable outside of the US and UK territories.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

The front-end user-interface portion was successfully accomplished in HTML/CSS/JS/React. Regarding the Back-end: We were able to implement a functional model which successfully generates unique story-lines based on user input as intended.

What we learned

Along with time-zone differences, living in vastly different countries also creates issues with availability in services; for example, certain AI generators are accessible from the United States which are not available in India.

What's next for DragonPiece GPT

A more robust GPT API would definitely be a must for future renditions.
