Inspiration
Navigating the world of driving can often be intimidating, especially for beginners stepping into the driver's seat for the first time. Complying with traffic laws and the complexities of the road, coupled with the need for quick decision-making, can make the prospect of learning to drive a daunting and nerve-wracking experience. To combat the initial nerves that come with driving, our innovative coding based driving game offers a more approachable and engaging opportunity to familiarize yourself with the fundamental aspects of driving with a low cost steering wheel and pedals.
What it does
Our educational driving simulation provides an affordable, accessible way to grow your driving confidence.
How we built it
To create this simulation we split our work equally between us, working with the Arduino, designing the cardboard mechanism, and coding the game. We blended these elements together to create a seamless and entertaining effect.
Challenges we ran into
Over this weekend we faced many challenges that stretched our minds and creativity. Among those, our biggest challenges were our limited budget and difficulties using the laser-cutter. We persisted and managed to overcome these through hard work and organization and collaboration within our team that greatly increased efficiency and the quality of our hackathon experience.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We drank 20 monsters in a night.
What we learned
We had many valuable learning experiences, most significantly: figuring out the ins and outs of Arduino. After facing several difficulties and many hours spent working with it, we finally deciphered it and gained valuable expertise. We also figured out each of our respective positions and dynamics within our group and how to work best with limited resources and time.
What's next for DMZ Wizard
Moving forward with our car game, we aim to implement advanced driving challenges, incorporating dynamic road scenarios and interactive gameplay to enhance the overall user experience. Additionally, we are committed to continuously updating and optimizing the game, integrating user feedback and innovative technology to ensure a seamless and enjoyable gaming experience for all players.
