“DJ Bot” is a web-based application that aims to make DJing parties easier for people. Based on customer research, we believe that the current user experience with Spotify has several shortcomings that we’d like to address through our web application, most notably our potential users have the following pain points: They are unable to fully engage in parties because they have to constantly monitor the vibe and change the tunes manually Can’t make smooth transitions between songs (e.g., no crossfading, and can’t start new songs at the right moments) Have difficulty identifying playlists they’ll like to fit the mood of their activity Spend a lot of time browsing for the right music or recommendations When they select the wrong playlists or song it detracts from the activity and lowers enjoyment We hope to improve the user experience through a web application that allows users to better create playlists to match the vibe of the party and more easily adjust the playlist in real time as the party commences.
