Inspiration Natural disasters disrupt lives, and we wanted to create a tool that empowers communities with real-time data and preparedness resources, ensuring safety and resilience.
What it does Diswatch provides an interactive map showing disaster-prone regions, offering customized checklists and emergency resources for effective disaster preparedness.
How we built it We leveraged AWS Amplify for hosting, AWS AppSync for the GraphQL API, Amazon DynamoDB for data storage, and Leaflet.js for rendering an interactive map.
Challenges we ran into Integrating multiple AWS services and ensuring real-time data updates were complex tasks that required extensive debugging and research.
