Inspiration
Originally conceptualised around players trying to fulfil a prophecy to become a Pagan god; where the drawn prophecy cards must occur, but the stories they gathered determined the details.
What it does
This evolved into carving your stories into a stone tablet, with the 4 currency types to buy stories (stories function as actions) coming from the 4 factions of spirits in the game. The player to successfully complete their tablet and meet ascension requirements (diffferent depending on what type of God they aim to be) then wins the game.
How we built it
Each team member was assigned to lead an aspect of the game: Lore, Art, Game Mechanics and Physical Components.
Challenges we ran into
Balancing the game and developing the combat system, as well as making the different areas line up (e.g. the art being the right shape for components).
Accomplishments that we're proud of
The final product and how functional the game is after such a short period of time.
What we learned
Making a workflow between project areas that didn't create bottlenecks.
What's next for Dia Eiri Tir
Expansion to add the original concept of prophecies as an additional mechanic.
