What it does

Plays the board game Hex

How we built it

Entirely in python, using a set of guidelines to follow for early game and search algorithms for mid/late game

Challenges we ran into

Determining and keeping track of when pieces are connected because of the states of the cells between them (not because they are directly next to each other) Representing the board internally

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Creating a bot that can play a game of hex

What we learned

A lot about python and search algorithms in general

What's next for Deus Hex Machina

Deux Hex Machina - where we would implement a more thorough set of guidelines early game, keep track of more connection templates, and use stronger search algorithms for midgame
