Inspiration
TL;DR; bored with docs, we aim to create the Paradise for the lazy busy devs.
Switching dev tools is tough without smooth transitions or clear advantages. We're amplifying Golem Network's strengths, ensuring easy access and setup for deployments.
What it does
TL;DR; we reinvented the wheel digital ocean.
The solution enables deployments to Golem Network through the web interface.
How we built it
TL;DR; brainstormed => coded => cursed => prayed => hoped => implemented.
The solution consists of 3 parts: frontend, backend, golem adapter.
Challenges we ran into
The main challenge was related to proxying: we had to proxy requests from golem's provider's container to our server, create proxy service for each such container and route the traffic from the user to the proxy.
Aside it, we faced some issues with Golem tools and infrastructure:
- yagna fund didn't work on Holesky
- TaskExecutor failed to execute the job due to yagna reaching limit of max opened files
- gvmkit-build failed to connect to Docker on Mac
What's next for Depsai
TL;DR; plugins for no-code platforms.
While configuring and deploying services through a UI reduces the entry barrier, it's far from ideal—it remains a tool solely for developers. Future enhancements could involve creating plugins for no-code platforms, offering the deployment of predefined solutions on Golem as a more cost-effective or resource-efficient alternative. This approach would utilize the same core but with a different user experience, potentially reaching a wider audience.
