Hackathon participation
It is Keene, Simon, and Vince's first hackathon. Daphne has been to 4 hackathons and Leo has gone to 3 hackathons so far.
Inspiration
Rice purity test is for people who touch grass, but we don't. So we made this test.
What it does
It shows you how brain rot you are.
How we built it
We used React for frontend, node/express for API, and MUI for styling.
Challenges we ran into
We had a lot of issues with Vite and Vercel deployment because of how they handle environment variables. We also struggled with hosting our server on vercel and having the frontend communicate with the backend through API.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
This is some of our members' first hackathon. We are proud that we were able to carry our vision out and make it come true.
What we learned
We learned that building the dev and prod environment from scratch is very difficult. Also we learned a lot about how Vercel hosts their websites.
What's next for Degen Purity Test
This test will remain on the internet for a while as long as we still have credits left.
