Degen Pay

Inspiration

Our team was inspired by a couple of our teammates' love for gambling. This turned our attention to the gambling market which is trending upward. If we can capture their love for gambling through regular daily activities, we can make a good profit margin amounts.

What it does

This extension allows users to bet money, and if they win, they can purchase the product for that price.

How we built it

We built Degen Pay as a Chrome Extension using Manifest V3 with a content script that automatically detects checkout buttons and injects gambling interfaces. We webscraped the prices of the items in the current checkout page.

Challenges we ran into

The biggest challenge was preventing infinite loops when our MutationObserver detected its own injected buttons, requiring careful debouncing and event handling.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We created a universal extension that works on any website, featuring professional 3D coin animations and dynamic roulette wheels that adjust to bet percentages. We really thought that our user interface was really user friendly making it attract more people

What we learned

We mastered Chrome Extension Manifest V3 development, advanced DOM manipulation with MutationObserver, and canvas graphics programming. We also learned CSS 3D transforms for realistic animations and how to balance gambling excitement with usable design.

What's next for Degen Pay

We hope for main stream websites to use our extension such as shopify and amazon. We would also like to add more games such as black jack and others in the future.
