At UCI, we noticed that students have a hard time interacting with clubs. Postings are drowned out in social media platforms like Instagram and Facebook, where students don't normally interact with clubs. So, we had the idea to create a specialized social media platform just for clubs and students. Clubs would become verified users under an organization and add students as members. There, clubs and students could post and interact with each other, increasing the participation of students and connecting students with more clubs around campus.

We came into many challenges throughout this project. This was the first hackathon for our group, so it was a new experience coding with Git and pushing/pulling. There were numerous errors we had to overcome with that process. Additionally, none of us had used React, HTML, or CSS before, so we had to learn it on the go to implement our UI. The backend was another issue as we took the wrong course initially - planning to save the user data locally. A mentor said that we should use a database like MongoDB instead, so we attempted to change that at the last minute but were unsuccessful. Overall, we learned a lot of new technologies and also how to incorporate different ideas/coding styles into a program. Even though the output wasn't as expected because our back-end isn't functioning as we wanted it to, the overall experience was amazing and educating.
