Inspiration
Our experience with the cold weather at Purdue and not knowing what to wear before we leave our dorms.
What it does
Gives the user a recommendation on what to wear based on their temperature preference and the current weather at their location. It also collects this data and user reviews for future use on machine learning models for recommendations.
How we built it
React - Frontend, OpenWeatherAPI - API, Firebase Realtime Database - Backend
Challenges we ran into
Dealing with React updated packages (new versions of Firebase and react-router-dom). Too many re-render errors.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Deploying a working website that runs as we expect it to and that is useful for the Purdue community.
What we learned
How to work together to create a successful product and learn new technologies to express our creativity.
What's next for Data Collection on Weather Preference for Deep-Learning
A machine learning model that can predict what users should wear.
