Inspiration

We wanted to create a fun, lighthearted game, and this idea came to life. Honestly, we were inspired by a mini-game in GTA San Andreas—the dancing van mission from our childhood. So, we thought, why not bring something like that to Reddit?

What It Does

You start as a character, following arrows that indicate dance moves. Your goal is to sync your moves as accurately as possible while the game gets tougher over time. You have one minute to score as high as you can, and you can compete on the leaderboard to see how you rank.

How We Built It

We used Devvit Blocks, Redis, Devvit Webviews, GLB Loader, Three.js, HTML, and JS to bring everything together.

Challenges We Ran Into

We faced issues with loading the 3D model and syncing it properly with Devvit messages, but after some debugging, we made it work smoothly.

Accomplishments We're Proud Of

We’re happy to have completed this as a fun and engaging game that runs seamlessly within Reddit.

What We Learned

We learned a lot about webviews, GLB loaders, and integrating everything within the Reddit app using Devvit.

What's Next for DanceFlux

We plan to add more characters, new arrow combos, and eventually, a real-time multiplayer mode to make the experience even more exciting.
