Inspiration
We wanted to leverage our interest and experience building video games, and create an accessible gaming experience by combining two unique genres of games and custom hardware.
What it does
It is a rhythm game with inspiration taken from dance dance revolution (DDR) and dating simulators, which has accesible controls for those who cannot normaly play DDR games.
How we built it
We used the game framework Monogame. We also used an Arduino and some 3D printed buttons to create a custom controller designed for this arcade style of game.
Challenges we ran into
- Setting up keyboard input using the Arduino
- Using version control to collaborate
- Upgrading .NET framework
Accomplishments that we're proud of
- Beautiful user interface and experience
- Funny narrative
- Making people laugh when they play/watch our game
What we learned
- Using version control to effectively collaborate across multiple computers
- The importance of delegation and ensuring everyone is working on a task
Built With
- c#
- monogame
