Inspiration
Why We Built DailyLink: A Daughter’s Promise The idea for DailyLink was born not out of ambition, but out of love, and a deep fear of being too late. My mom is getting older. She’s still full of life, but I’ve noticed the little things, such as forgetting to take her medication, not drinking enough water, skipping meals. At first, I’d send reminders through texts or calls, but work gets hectic, and time slips away. One day she admitted she hadn’t taken her pills in two days, simply because she forgot. That moment hit me hard. I realized that no matter how much I cared, I couldn’t always be there. Not physically, not in every moment. Then a close friend’s mom suffered a stroke. The cause? Missed medication. She had no symptoms beforehand, just forgot, again and again, until it became life-threatening. It scared all of us. And we started noticing how often our parents skip simple self-care habits: hydration, bowel health, even logging how they feel. These are small, daily acts that keep us well. But as our parents age, they become easy to forget and hard to track. I started building DailyLink because I wanted a way to be there, even when I wasn’t. I didn’t want to micromanage or overwhelm my mom with tech she wouldn’t use. I just wanted to know she was okay, that she took her meds, drank water, and went about her day. I wanted to reassure her, gently, and to reassure myself, quietly. So we created a wellness app just for seniors and their families. Built with heart, not hype. DailyLink lets elderly parents log daily health activities with just one tap. No clutter, no confusion. Just simple reminders for meds, water, mood, bowel health, and blood pressure. All in a calm interface made for comfort. For caregivers like me, DailyLink sends daily WhatsApp or email reports, plus quiet motion alerts if there’s no phone activity for hours. Not to spy, but to stay aware. Because sometimes silence is the loudest warning. And I don’t want to find out too late. We made DailyLink free for seniors because health should never be a luxury. And just $3.99/month for caregivers because peace of mind should be accessible. This project isn’t just an app. It’s a promise. A promise to show up, even from afar. A promise to care, not just when it’s convenient, but every day. A promise to build with love and to help others do the same. DailyLink is for anyone who’s ever worried about an aging parent, and who’s ever wished they could do more. It’s a daughter’s way of saying, I’m still here. I still care. And I hope it helps millions of others say the same.
What it does
DailyLink is a wellness app that helps seniors easily log their daily health with one tap or voice. Caregivers receive WhatsApp/email updates, monthly summaries, and inactivity alerts so they know their loved ones are okay, even from afar.
How we built it
We built DailyLink using Bolt.new for the frontend, allowing us to rapidly prototype and deploy a clean, mobile-friendly UI. The voice logging feature is powered by ElevenLabs, and the paywall system is integrated with RevenueCat to enable caregiver subscriptions. Health logs are stored using Supabase, and we used Expo to build and package the Android app.
Challenges we ran into
We faced integration issues across platforms. For example, ElevenLabs voice support only worked reliably on web, and RevenueCat’s test product wasn’t available on Android. We also had to simplify complex health tracking into a UI that’s senior-friendly.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We’re proud to have created a working prototype that combines voice AI, subscription billing, and a thoughtful UI, all within a few weeks. Most importantly, we built something deeply personal and meaningful.
What we learned
We learned how to integrate multiple APIs in a mobile-first setup, manage real-time updates, and simplify UX for an often-overlooked user base: non-tech-savvy seniors.
What's next for DailyLink
We plan to refine our mobile voice interface and complete the integration between the senior and caregiver experiences. We also plan to launch pilots with real families eldercare groups in Southeast Asia to validate and improve DailyLink in real-world use. Our goal is to make DailyLink available to every family that needs it.
